Yet, for millions of girls and women across the world, it remains a source of stigma, exclusion and lost opportunity—not because of biology, but because of inequality.

Every month, countless girls miss school because they cannot afford sanitary products.

Women are forced to choose between meeting basic needs and managing their menstrual health with dignity.

Harmful myths, cultural taboos and misinformation continue to silence conversations, leaving many to navigate one of life's most natural processes in fear, shame and isolation.

At Hands of Gold Foundation, we believe this must change.

We believe that menstrual hygiene is not a luxury or a privilege.

It is a fundamental human right. Every girl and woman deserves access to the knowledge, products and support needed to manage her menstrual health safely, confidently and with dignity.

Our vision is clear—to help build a

#PeriodFriendlyWorld, where no one is denied education, employment, healthcare or opportunity simply because they menstruate.

Guided by this vision, our work is anchored on three pillars.

Education: We equip girls, boys and entire communities with accurate, age-appropriate information on menstrual health, challenging harmful myths, dismantling stigma and fostering a culture of understanding, respect and inclusion.

Access: We provide sanitary pads and essential menstrual hygiene supplies to girls and women in underserved communities, ensuring that the inability to afford menstrual products never becomes a barrier to education, productivity or self-worth.

Health Support: Through health screenings, education and referrals, we encourage early identification of menstrual health concerns while promoting informed health-seeking behaviour and overall well-being.

The impact of menstrual health extends far beyond the individual.

When girls can manage their periods safely, they stay in school, perform better academically and gain the confidence to pursue their dreams.

When women have access to menstrual hygiene products and supportive environments, they participate more fully in economic and community life.

Families become stronger. Communities become healthier. Nations become more productive.

As we look ahead to our next Menstrual Hygiene Campaign, Hands of Gold Foundation is committed to deepening its impact. We will expand our outreach to more schools and underserved communities, strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, train community champions to sustain menstrual health education throughout the year and promote innovative, sustainable solutions that make menstrual products and health services more accessible to those who need them most.
