Hands of Gold Foundation is nongovernmental, non-political organization that primarily has the welfare of women, children, and the vulnerable in society as its focus of operations. We seek to better these communities by empowering them with basic skills acquisition. We help build the capacities of our target groups across all communities in Ghana to empower them economically.
We recognize the need to support one another, respect, and hold in high esteem everyone, from the child to the elderly. We are compassionate and ethically oriented in all of our community service efforts. We create an environment that is safe, caring, and friendly and strive to provide opportunities that enable our beneficiaries flourish.
Our campaigns aim to raise global awareness of the importance of child education and promote access to finance for women. Our vision is to realize the full potential of everyone through a sustainable provision of support, education, health, and developmental projects.
Our Story
A young boy who has always enjoyed the good life and knew nothing about being poor, until his mother was involved in an accident which left her leg broken in 4 places. She was hospitalized for 5years and eventually lost her job. Times were difficult and that led to their eviction from their home. She bore the single parenting responsibility for her children. Support came from nowhere. Fortunately, the Mum had started building and the facility had no doors and windows. This situation offered their only option and source of shelter. It was at that point hardship became real to family.
The fear of living today and having no knowledge of where the next meal will come from. From then, he understood the true difference of being rich and poor. He personally lived it and was not told. From his experience, he vowed to help the poor and the needy, especially women & children having had his first share of hardship. These experiences birthed Hands of Gold Foundation to reach out to those in need.
